GD Combat Systems business group is comprised of three business units, Land Systems (LS), Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) and European Land Systems (ELS).  The Land Systems business unit designs and manufactures Main Battle tanks (Abrams tanks), Light Armored Vehicles (Stryker), and Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) military vehicles (Buffalo and Cougar).   The Ordnance and Tactical Systems business unit designs and manufactures the Flyer family of lightweight tactical vehicles to include the Flyer 60 and 72 vehicles.  OTS also designs and manufactures the GAU-19 .50 caliber Gatling Gun, the Hydra 70 family of unguided rockets, and the M2A1 quick change barrel kits. GD Information Systems & Technology business group is comprised of two business units, Information Technology (IT) and Mission Systems (MS).

Information Technology creates large-scale, secure information technology networks and systems and professional services for U.S. defense and intelligence, state and local government and commercial customers.   IT performs  full scale Enterprise IT Infrastructure, Network Operations and Maintenance operations.  Likewise, IT performs large scale data center optimization and modernizations.   Additionally, IT is a leader in providing Medicare related IT systems and professional services for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Also, IT provides a comprehensive range of professional and technical services.  Lastly,  IT provides Training Systems and services  in military operations, range support, technology-based simulation, healthcare and professional development.

GD Marine Systems business group is comprised of three business units, Bath Iron Works (BIW), Electric Boat (EB) and NASSCO.  Bath Iron Works, since 1884 has built and delivered over 425 of the worlds most formidable ships for military and commercial purposes.  BIW is the lead designer and builder of the Arleigh Burke-Class guided missile destroyers, and is one of the partners for the Zumwalt class of the next generation US Navy Destroyers.  Electric Boat is one of the nation’s premier submarine builders.  EB was established in 1899 and delivered the first submarine to the us Navy in 1900.  EB has designed and delivered 15 of the U.S. Navy’s 19 classes of nuclear submarines.  EB is currently working on the Virginia and Ohio Class submarines. General Dynamics has a very straight forward website design.  Their career page is broken down into the following sections: Our Culture, Our People, Benefits, Diversity and Inclusion and Career FAQs.  After clicking on search GD Careers, you can search by Keyword, Job Id, Company, Job Category, and US and International Locations.  If you click the search button without listing any criteria then you can see all jobs in all locations. The results table allows you to sort by the column headings which is nice.   Their Job Summaries / Requisitions are easy to view and have an apply button at the bottom of each requisition.  GD’s main website is the gateway to its business unit’s websites that provide more insight into the job opportunities contained within that business unit.
